Book Description

 July 8, 2012
Before considering embarking on the road to guide a company to business processes management, namely orient it to BPM, we must consider how it will be that way and what challenges we will face over it. This thought will allow us to identify the major risks of the project, and therefore will able us to manage in time. One of these challenges will be critical to the success of the proposed routing BPM, will be how to break down the organizational barriers that we find from the time we make public its intention to direct the company to BPM if the receiver of the message is to know what is BPM and understand it). The barriers not only be presented when the project starts, but almost certainly accompany us throughout its life, so we must be prepared to break them continuously, thus avoiding the risk that our attempts fail.

Moreover, this difficulty should be managed as a risk of significant relevance, and therefore cataloged and tracked according to the best market practices and methodologies. The probability that organizational barriers prevent us from successfully implementing a BPM project orientation of our company are by no means negligible, but are by no means insurmountable, ant nor are the same in all companies or projects. For example, who will sponsor the project will be a fundamental decision to help mitigate the risk of failure in trying to aim to BPM.

The purpose of this Report is to advise professionals, companies or executives generally close to the direction of companies, which should be on how to manage the risk of not being able to break down organizational barriers to the deal to be the BPM project to guide the company, and therefore does not achieve its goal.

One of the major issues to be resolved, and that help maintain the relevance of risk is if the chaos is bad for all employees?, I.e., is there a possibility that the disorder, chaos, is well seen, even why not enhanced by certain employees who have been accustomed to living in a given ecosystem of disorder, or simply think that the order could harm them, but will not be really so? How can we break down historic barriers of our company, or to prevent new barriers appear?

The Report describes most of the barriers that will be a draft guidance to BPM, it would be impossible to mention all of them, because given the variability of companies likely to be endless, and how risks should be managed in order to break those barriers and get to implement BPM successfully.
